We continue our chat with Tina Katwal, who discovered quilting by chance and later went on set up a quilting related store and a design studio. And no, she didn’t stop with that, she went on to conduct the first ever India International Quilting Festival, in 2019, along with 2 of her friends.

This is Part 2 of a 2 part conversation with Tina. She talks about the challenges they faced and how they overcame them and what was that secret that that made it possible. What the New Indian Woman podcast is about

As you may already be aware, this podcast has 2 focus areas. What's in this episode:

Tina talks about Quilting being a community activity and how they felt there is a need to make India visible in the international scene. What does planning for such a huge event entail ? She says they never expected it to be so big!! And she goes on to define what big is, in this context…

She then talks about having virtual event as Plan B, for the festival in 2021 and how they were better prepared because of the Plan B.

She then goes on to explain about the importance of planning, not just Plan A but plan B as well. She also talks about knowing the rules so that you are well equipped to break the rules to unleash your creativity.

She shares some of her secrets on being calm and on having fun and what procrastination, patience and discipline means, in the context of quilting. She has a very different take on how to keep herself motivated on a bad day.

She signs off with a beautiful message for all women, especially for young listeners.
