Fears about having a child


As a woman, do you have any fears about having a child ? Maybe this question will remind you of the day of the delivery, regardless of whether you are already a mother or not. You may not even have talked about this fear. But is it such a big fear ? Apparently, yes. Today's youngsters very much feel this fear, to the extent that, it plays a role in planning the pregnancy.

In Part 2 of this conversation with Anurama Suresh, she focusses a lot on this aspect of pregnancy. She specializes in coaching, and that too fertility and pregnancy coaching.

In Part 2, Anurama talks about how important it is for young couples to take time out to talk about pregnancy, discussing the fears and challenges around it. She shares the differences in thinking across urban and rural women and the decision making factors have changed over the last few years.

She talks about the fears that influence the decision making around having a child. Typical fears faced by a woman with respect to her career and the role of a mother, about support system and how some of these fears can be addressed. She shares a few core tips that will help a woman approach these fears differently.

Would you believe that social media also plays a huge role in this fear ? Yes, it does, indirectly.

Anurama also talks about how the notion of quality time is changing the parenting outlook and how that is adversely affecting the child's development.

We discuss the real issue of insufficient support system in raising a child and how this impacts women much more.
